Deputy Secretary General Jamaat-i-Islami Pakistan, Dr Farid Ahmed Piracha has said that trust reposed in the relief work being carried by religious parties is a testimony to the fact that Pakistani nation has rejected so-called enlighten moderation and the US agenda being pursued by the rulers.

In a statement on Tuesday Piracha said no enlighten or much-trumpeted human right network is seen in the affected areas.

He said the UNHCR has donated large chuck of its tents' reserve to Al-Khidmat for setting up tentage village in the affected areas. He said despite being front-line state in the so-called US war against terror, Pakistan could not get needed five billion dollars for the relief and rehabilitation of quake-hit people.

Islamabad could get only 15 million dollars of the pledges made in donors' conference, he claimed. He said this lukewarm response of the world community speaks of the failed foreign policy of our government. The world community, he said, donated as many as 12 billion dollars for the rehabilitation of Tsunami victims but consistent demands aired by the relief commissioner are not getting any response by the world community, as they have reservations about the one-man rule in Pakistan.
